Biosecurity Act 2015

The NSW Biosecurity Act 2015 (the Biosecurity Act) came into effect in 1 July 2017. It has repealled the Noxious Weeds Act 1993.

The Noxious Weeds Act 1993 defines the roles of government, councils, private landholders and public authorities in the management of noxious weeds.  The Act sets up classes and control actions for noxious weeds.  It also imposes penalties for various offences.
